Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Canoryx Limited ("CanoryX", "we") and govern your use of the CanoryX platform, including the agency portal and any course finder widgets. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

CanoryX provides tools for education organisations to search course data and to publish a branded course finder that collects student enquiries. Pilot / trial accounts may have usage limits and reduced functionality. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

3. Accounts & acceptable use

• You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You must not misuse the service, attempt to gain unauthorised access, scrape data beyond your entitlements, or use it unlawfully.
• You must handle any student / enquirer personal data you receive in accordance with applicable data protection law and our Data Processing Agreement.

4. Data protection & privacy

Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy & Cookie Policy. Where you act as a data controller for student data collected via your course finder and we process it on your behalf, the Data Processing Agreement applies and forms part of these Terms.

5. Fees & plans

Some plans are paid. Fees, billing cycles and entitlements are described at sign-up or in the portal. Paid features may be provided via a third-party payment processor.

6. Intellectual property

CanoryX and its underlying software, systems, and branding are owned by us. This includes, without limitation, our proprietary higher education and course intelligence data infrastructure, and the compilation, structuring, transformation, and processing of such data, including data canonicalisation, standardisation, schema mapping, machine-readable structuring, ETL pipelines, and any derived or compiled datasets generated through these processes.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the service strictly in accordance with these Terms.

You retain ownership of any brand assets and content you upload to the platform.

You must not copy, extract, reproduce, distribute, resell, or otherwise exploit any part of the service, including datasets, compiled outputs, or derived data products, whether directly or through automated means, except where expressly permitted under a separate written agreement with CanoryX.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Course data is provided for guidance and may not be complete or current; you are responsible for verifying details with institutions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to [limitation amount / fees paid in the preceding 12 months]. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Data & usage notice

This platform aggregates, transforms, and structures publicly available information from higher education institutions and related sources into a standardised intelligence layer for analytical and informational purposes. Data is refreshed regularly and continuously normalised for accuracy and consistency. However, information may change over time and users should verify critical details — including fees, entry requirements, application deadlines, and other institutional specifics — directly with official sources before making decisions. This is an independent higher education intelligence infrastructure platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any university or educational institution unless explicitly stated. All content is provided for informational and analytical use only and does not constitute official academic, admissions, financial, or legal advice.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or to protect the service. You may stop using the service at any time. Certain provisions survive termination, including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
